Best Viewpoint Tracking for Camera Mounted on Robotic Arm with Dynamic Obstacles

چکیده
The problem of finding a next best viewpoint for 3D modeling or scene mapping has been explored in computer vision over the last decade. This paper tackles a similar problem, but with different characteristics, and proposes a method for dynamic best viewpoint recovery of a target point while avoiding possible occlusions. Since the environment can change, the method has to iteratively find the next best view with a global knowledge of the free and occupied parts. We model the problem as a set of possible viewpoints which correspond to the centers of cell of a virtual tessellated hemisphere covering the scene. Taking into account occlusions, distances between current and future viewpoints, quality of the viewpoint and joint constraints (robot arm joint distances or limits), we evaluate the best next viewpoint. The proposal has been evaluated in 8 different scenarios with different occlusions and a short sequence to validate the dynamic performance.

متن کاملTracking Moving Objects by a Mobile Camera
A system for video tracking of a moving object by the robot-held camera is presented, and efficient tracking methods are proposed. We describe our initial implementation of a system which is capable of tracking a single moving object against highly textured background. A pyramid-based image processor, PVM-1 is employed to support some fast algorithms in locating the moving object from the diffe...
متن کاملA Shared-Aperture Tracking Display for Augmented Reality
The operation and performance of a six degree-of-freedom (DOF) shared-aperture tracking system with image overlay is described. This unique tracking technology shares the same aperture or scanned optical beam with the visual display, virtual retinal display (VRD). This display technology provides high brightness in an AR helmet-mounted display, especially in the extreme environment of a militar...
متن کاملControl of a 2-DoF robotic arm using a P300-based brain-computer interface
In this study, a novel control algorithm, based on a P300-based brain-computer interface (BCI) is fully developed to control a 2-DoF robotic arm. Eight subjects including 5 men and 3 women perform a 2-dimensional target tracking in a simulated environment. Their EEG (Electroencephalography) signals from visual cortex are recorded and P300 components are extracted and evaluated to perform a real...
متن کاملOn a Moving Base Robotic Manipulator Dynamics
There are many occasions where the base of a robotic manipulator is attached to a moving platform, such as on a moving ship, terrain or space shuttle. In this paper a dynamic model of a robotic manipulator mounted on a moving base is derived using both Newton-Euler and Lagrange-Euler methods. The presented models are simulated for a Mitsubishi PA10-6CE robotic manipulator characteristics mounte...
